Experiencing Bowling Green

We asked our current students to share with the incoming I-Days candidates what they enjoy about the city and campus communities. Here is what they had to say!

FAVORITE BGSU TRADITION/EVENT?

"The "beheading" of Frieda and Freddie is super cool! The students get so excited to figure out who is behind their mascots. It is such a fun tradition."
-Chelsea Greene, 2nd Year, Health and Human Services Advising - BGSU

"SICSIC is my favorite "campus tradition"! They are these students whose identity is kept secret and they run around campus inspiring school spirit. At first they look creepy but their history is extremely cool. Every once and a while I will bump into them in my office and they seem like pretty awesome students."
-Ashley Brown, 1st Year, Student Conduct - BSGU

"I really enjoyed convocation. It feels like a very unifying experience and reflects the values and commitments of the CSP program."
-Danielle Gross, 1st Year, Residence Life - Tiffin University

"Aye Ziggy Zoomba at football games! It is a great school cheer that we have at BG, and I enjoy how it builds community at the beginning of the year when our incoming first-year students learn it at convocation."
-Kyle Fassett, 2nd Year, Pre-Major and Academic Planning - BGSU

"Falcon Friday! :) It's a great way to show your spirit and love for BGSU."
-Joelle Fundaro, 2nd Year, Career Center - BGSU

"I like Campus Polleyes for the breadsticks!"
-Erika Orman, 1st Year, Education and Human Development Advising - BGSU

-Jacintha Ratnasamy, 1st Year, Honors College - BGSU

"I looooove me some Pita Pit! It is a healthy, delicious option among all of the fast food/pizza joints in BG. I go there at least once a week with my supervisor and fellow GA."
-Julie Palmer, 1st Year, Alumni and Development - BGSU

"There are surprisingly several restaurants I thoroughly enjoy in BG. If forced, I could narrow it down to three: El Zarape, Reverend's, and Call of the Canyon."
-Melanie Chamberlain, 1st Year, Pre-Major and Academic Planning - BGSU

"I have really grown to love Stone Throws! Its a Irish Pub that has a great beer selection and the most interesting foods. Its a nice place to relax and enjoy company or watch some sports!"
